Who isn’t familiar with Vincent van Gogh’s sunflowers? In this workshop, we’ll observe and paint a beautiful bouquet of sunflowers, following in the footsteps of the world-famous painter Van Gogh. What does a sunflower look like exactly and how can you translate its typical features to your canvas? And why was Van Gogh so taken by these flowers? Instructor Bas takes you along step by step in painting a still life with sunflowers. In addition, he’ll tell you about the artist Van Gogh and the way in which he painted.
About the instructor Bas graduated from the Art Academy in Maastricht and is also a costume designer in addition to being a visual artist. His fascination with Van Gogh started at the Van Gogh Museum, where he used to work. Van Gogh’s style of painting has always stayed with Bas and has even influenced his own artistic process. Our workshops are accessible for everyone, so experience with painting or previous art education are not necessary. Attention: this workshop is fully booked. It is no longer possible to make a reservation.. You can check our website for more workshop this summer.
